Scroll through Instagram and you will see beautiful underwater photographs, turtles swimming over coral reefs, divers holding signs about protecting the ocean, and companies telling their followers how much they care about the environment. There is nothing wrong with creating awareness. Social media can educate people. It can inspire divers. It can bring attention to environmental problems that otherwise might remain invisible.
